Two of the most well known financial publications in the UK, Investors Chronicle and the Financial Times, come together each year to ask their readers to cast votes in a range of financial categories, including among others, the “Best CFD Provider“, “Best Trading App” and “Best Forex Provider“. The Investment and Wealth Management awards cover a broad range of financial sectors, from investment funds to share dealers and SIPP providers.

The result of those votes were recently announced at this years awards, and a number of brokers who offer binary options were recognised as offering the best service in their particular category – so who were the winners?

Best CFD Provider

This coveted title went to CMC Markets. One of the key elements to their win was the tight spreads and low margins across their asset lists. The “Next Generation” trading platform, developed in-house, was another major factor in the award, which judges noted allowed traders to better manage trades, and risk.

Users also complimented the company’s mobile offering, and customer service – backing up awards in previous years for “Best Trading App” (in 2014).

IG were also shortlisted in this category.

Best Trading App

Another sought after award is that of the best trading app. This year, the award went to IG. This award followed hot on the heels of last year’s success, where IG were again voted the winners.

Users like the ability to trade on the move on an exchange rather than a retail service provider, or over the counter broker. Innovation was a key part of IG staying ahead of the competition, and they were the first to offer a trading app for the Apple watch, and also fingerprint login on the iPhone. This attention to detail when developing mobile apps really sets IG apart.

A popular feature at IG enables traders to open, edit and close positions from within a price chart – a boon for technical analysts. The fact that they were able to roll this feature out to the mobile app was another major factor in scooping the best app award for the second year in a row.

Both CMC and ETX Capital were shortlisted in this category, illustrating that the large financial firms expanding into binary options and continuing to prioritise mobile trading in a sector that demands speed.

IG Dominate

In addition to the mobile app award, IG also won the “Best Spread Betting Provider” award (above is the advanced platform). The ability to trade over 10,000 financial markets, with no annual fees, combined with trader friendly tools was enough to take the vote.

One such advanced feature gives traders the ability back test particular strategies against historical data, and overlay over 100 technical indicators.

IG were also shortlisted in the “Best Forex Provider” category, rounding off a good night for the group.
