Stock Market Opening Times over the Festive period
Markets open and close differently across the globe over the festive period. Binary options brokers will generally offer trading whenever markets are open, so here we collate a list of the changing opening hours of various trading markets over the Christmas and new year period.
In the US, certain assets open and close differently, so those are listed separately.
All times are listed in GMT, and represent the amended close time. Any day not listed will see markets open and close as normal.
Times remain subject to change.

Foreign Exchange pairs are generally traded around the clock as no single country controls any market. Bank closing times will still see those markets closing for a period over the Christmas and New Year days though.
Traders may want to keep an eye on these closing times, particularly where currency pairs are being traded. An approaching market close may see a rally or sell off prior to the close, and these may represent trading opportunities. Binary.com offers the most flexible binary options setups – so traders could set positions to expire at the moment they expect prices to have moved.
Binary options brokers may have some down time of their own, but most will be taking trades whenever markets are open. CFD brokers, such as IG, eToro and Markets.com, may allow traders to open and close trades ‘out of hours’ – though the spreads (or broker margin) will be higher.
